you can tell if a stock will continue up by checking after hours trading- if you see very big single buys way above the ask- you can bet someone knows something- you say this on many stock at the bottom of the nasdaq in 2002 like amt buy at 0.67 3 million shares within days it went to 1.80 and eventually 44$- like nuvo right now the ask is at 5.40 but there are 2 big buys at 5.62 and 5.80 by insitutions. you can see many 20-30k buys in after hours while nuvo was consolidating at itbottom around 3.50 for 5 days prior to this move to 6.50 today

Mary

Since your post on 04-10-07 I've been looking at the following link and picking up after hours trading. Price Change and Volume.

http://www.marketwatch.com/tools/stockresearch/screener/afterhours.asp

Is this the same source as the cbsmarket watch you referred to in your last note in this thread?

Is there a better source available for after hours trading screening? I can't see the lot sizes in this screener. I can only see the sum of all trades with this screener.

when you get a moment....

Thanks!

jm

Nice site. Lots more info than the marketwatch I'd found.

Thanks!

I have found the Nasdaq-100 Pre-Market Heat Map very useful information.

guys, especially MARY4MONEY, I've been trading pre-market/after-market very extensively and I can tell that things are not that simple as MARY4MONEY wrote. There are much more factors and big "buy" block doesn't mean price will continue to rise, I've been trading pre-market every day and I can tell from my experience that I noticed NO correlation between big "buy" block and future price rise, I can even tell that in many cases it's a nice opportunity to short cos relatively big "buy" order will move price even higher, so you will have a better price to short.....
