Lesson 9 - "Exact Entry Points" by Mark McRae

This lesson is very special as it is in video format. I
am going to show you how to find exact entry points for
your trade.

http://www.tradeology.com/go/exact.html

Fetcher[/* SureFire Long Entry SELECTION CRITERIA */

rsi(21) above 50
ema(5) crossed above ema(6)
ema(13) above ema(21)
ema(13) above ema(100)
ema(100) above ma(100)

add column rsi(21)

add column ema(5)
add column ema(6)
add column ema(13)
add column ema(21)
add column ema(100)
add column ma(100)
]

Fetcher[
/* SureFire Short Entry SELECTION CRITERIA */

rsi(21) below 50
ema(5) crossed below ema(6)
ema(13) below ema(21)
ema(13) below ema(100)
ema(100) below ma(100)

add column rsi(21)

add column ema(5)
add column ema(6)
add column ema(13)
add column ema(21)
add column ema(100)
add column ma(100)
]

The above filters are my interpretation of the video.

The RumpledOne,
Thanks for this posting. Sure looks very nice. The demonstration is on a hourly chart but looks like it does the same thing on a daily chart too.

One thing I notice in the video is that he talks about looking for the EMA(5) cross above EMA(6) after EMA(5) crossed below EMA(6). I know EMA(5) has to be below EMA(6) in order to cross above it. But is it important to find a cross below within certain time period ? What's your thought ?

Thanks again for the posting.

Not according to the video.

The main point is to indentify the trend and trade with it.

The EMA(5) X Below EMA(6) signals to get ready for an entry if/when the EMA(5) X Above EMA(6).

HTH.

Rump -

I've seen alot of great filters here at SF, and many of them belong to you. Now I dont agree with alot of what you do here, but THIS filter has to be one of the BEST things I have seen in some time! Not looking for a responce or anything...just wanted to give credit where credit is due. For those of you rookie investors, look no further! This filter is the "alpha and omega." Very, very nice work, and I can't believe there isn't more interest or dialog on this baby.

TheRumpledOne
Very many thanks for this posting.

You are a professional trader and I think you would appreciate the advantage of associating Volatility (Implied/Historical)component of the equity or index with your filters to make it more meaningful for Options Traders. Two additional columns can be added to include IV and Hist.Volatility.

Option traders normally preach to Buy Calls when Volatility is low because they find the premium cheaper. Can you define the lowest range for volatility?
Hope you will post the updated versions of filters ASAP.

Thanks once again.

Feel free to modify the filter anyway you like.

I posted it so all may benefit.
