Well,.... I guess we need days like these to get those buying opportunities.... so let's see how the system plays out. The rubber band is supposed to spring back. Just hope that blade doesn't slice too deep.

Is anyone trading this either real time or papertrading and if so, is it working like it backtested?

Is my question a fair question to ask due the effects of political uncertainty on the markets recently?

I am paper trading this now but only started about two weeks ago, so it is hard to say given the recent turmoil around the fiscal cliff. I am using the specific settings chosen by the WFA for December (two 4% pullbacks, ADX(5) above 55, with exit at Williams %R(2) above -45).

I have shown this to a small group of investor friends who want to form a LLC specifically to trade this system. Truth is I think they are willing to invest in ME as much as any specific system as long as their exposure is not too great. I have advised them to watch how it trades going forward for the next six months, and if it is showing promise (and by that I mean keeping roughly in line with prior MC average performance and win percentage) I will set up the LLC and trade this on their behalf.

I have made a few trades ... a few winners and a few losers ... I exited all my trading positions (except for an XIV position in a registerd account) before Christmas to take a rest and clean up year-end matters for tax purposes ...

I don't think the last couple weeks are representative of a normal market given holidays, the fiscal cliff uncertainty and year end positioning by institutional investors.

I'm looking to start fresh come Jan 2 and will include this system in my plays ... I'll certainly know better how well it operates in a couple months. It may take some time because I don't automate my entries - it doesn't trigger all that often - and I'm travelling lots.

Kevin great work on this. How often do you update your WFA settings and will you be posting them in here when you do? Please do as I think this is a good system.

Kevin, I have never used SS, but I am thinking about it. I am wondering how SS works and how easy is it to learn. If you enter a formula, does it automatically check the different variables? For example, the ADX (5) above 40 was your original formula, does it scan for the best ADX (5) for the WFA or do you have to set it with some code (to get that December, the best ADX (5) was ADX (5) above 55)? What about the exit, originally it was exit when RSI >50 at the open the next day and for your WFA, it is based on Williams %? Thank you so much for all your help and Happy New Year.
